Coil Edge Protectors For Coil Securement

Coil Edge Protectors can be useful when hauling steel coils. They prevent the steel coil from shifting over the trailer and protect its corners from any type of damage. There are two ways to secure your steel coils. The first method, “Eye to the Side” is the most common way truckers use for steel coil securement, where the coil sits horizontally over your flatbed trailer and the chains run through it. The second way, “Eye to the Sky”, involves lowering the coil onto the trailer vertically, and the tie-down chains running overtop of it. In both methods, you’d insert our steel coil edge protectors first and run your chains over or through the metal coils second. They’re not just protecting your load, but also your chains.
