1-Inch Ratchet Tie-Down Straps

In order to properly secure your cargo, you need to be sure you have enough straps to do the job. Consider the working load limits of each strap and add accordingly, if there is too much tension, you risk damaging your cargo and your straps. Using 1-inch straps on cargo much heavier than their working load limits is extremely dangerous to your cargo and straps.

Attach the end fitting on the strap to a specific tie-down point. Keeping the strap straight and flat, run it over or around your cargo to your other tie-down point. Attach the ratchet portion to that point, and make sure the ratchet is flat and that the mechanism opens up and away from you. Run the endless portion of the strap through the ratchet and pull all the slack through. Finally, ratchet the strap down until there's little to no resistance on the strap, and fold the excess strap into the ratchet handle.

What are 1” Ratchet Straps Used for?

Because of their size and low working load limits, these straps are made and meant to secure light loads such as moving boxes, light furniture, or landscaping equipment. Though they aren’t fully limited to cargo control and can be used in DIY personal projects by holding things together, construction or woodworking projects, or camping by securing tents and other loose equipment. These straps may not be as strong as their 2-inch counterparts, but they have a wide variety of uses.
