  • 33" Long
  • 10 gauge steelĀ
  • Coil Racks are also known as coil chocks or coil bunks.
  • Used in conjunction with hardwood timbers to stabilize metal coils in the load securement process.
  • HEAVY-DUTY STEEL. This coil rack is forged from 10 gauge galvanized steel for maximum durability and strength. Improvised coil racks can buckle under the weight of heavy metal coils, but 10 gauge galvanized steel can handle the pressure.Ā
  • A single rack and contain up to 10,000 lbs of metal coils safely.
  • INCREASED STABILITY. Unstable metal coils are dangerous during transport. This coil rack prevents even slight jostling or rolling, empowering you to secure your coils snugly in place.
  • EASY-TO-USE. Once installed, thereā€™s little-to-no adjustment needed. The half-saddle design lets you easily incorporate wood beams to make the platform narrower, ensuring that any coil resting on it sits safe and snug.
  • PRECISE POSITIONING. Bulkier coil racks are a hassle to move, and placing them optimally can take some guesswork. With our coil rack, the lightness and overall design allows you to easily incorporate hardwood timbers as needed. That makes it easy to place it exactly where it needs to be to best support your coil load.

HOW TO USE METAL COIL RACKS: These coil racks protect your flatbed bed trailer when hauling heavy-duty metal coils. Learn how to use them when loading coils.

  1. The first step is to prepare your supplies for securing a single coil on the flatbed truck. These supplies include three coil racks, 4x4 dunnage lumber, four chains and chain binders, a coil mat (if desired), and steel corner protectors.
  2. The second step is to place the coil mat (if wanted) onto the trailer's floor, where the coil will sit.
  3. Now, place the coil rack on the flatbed in the same direction as the steel bed of the trailerā€”straight in the direction of the trailer.
  4. Place the 4x4 dunnage lumber on the coil rack near the triangle loop. You can also keep a rubber coil pad over it for extra protection.
  5. Once you've laid everything down, use a forklift, crane, or other equipment to place the coil onto the rack. Set it down slowly so it sits nicely on the mat and the coil rack.
  6. The final step is securing the trailer's coil using the chains and chain binders.
  7. Voila, your coil is secured onto the vehicle.
