- Installation Notes: Check these important installation notes if you plan to do it yourself. It includes positive and negative wiring and a plastic connector (1).
- Firstly, disconnect the battery or power supply before changing the electric fan.
- Unscrew or unbolt the fan from the motor hub or mounting bracket.
- Inspect the mounting area, check the fan motor shaft, hub, and condenser/radiator assembly.
- Check for dirt, corrosion, or damage, clean the area, or remove the broken part.
- Position the new fan onto the motor shaft or mounting hub. Screw the fan with bolts and tighten as per the requirement.
- Check the blade clearance and reconnect the electrical wiring.
- Test the fan and check whether the APU is cooling or not.
- When to Replace: Some common situations allow you to understand when to replace the existing fuel lift pump:-
- If the cooling performance of the APU has reduced, leading to overheating, or if the condenser is not getting enough airflow.
- Excessive noise or vibration coming from the fan area.
- If there’s an electrical failure or the fan motor does not spin when powered on.
- Visible physical damage like corrosion, cracks, bent or broken fan blades.
