The bolt on 4 inch winch. I was wondering if a complete 30 foot strap would wind in completely on it?
Yes this will fit in with the winch.

i have a problem with my straps bouncing loose..i have to pull over and wind them back up again so they don't hit the tires or get ripped off from the tires..do u have something that after i roll the straps up that keeps them from bouncing loose?
We sell rubber bands for them if they are loose in the truck, but you would not be able to use those while the strap is wound on the winch. My question would be are you locking your winch. There is a latch on the side of your winch that should lock it in so it cannot unroll. Hope this helps.
Are you putting the hook on the rug rail then locking the lock? perhaps if your not doing that maybe try it. we do not have any type of clip or anything that can solve this problem, but we can look into it. Sorry we cannot help you at this time.

What is the inside diameter of the shaft mechanism? Would I be able to slide a 5/8" axle shaft through the hole in the spool?
The diameter of the hole is 1" wide and the 5/8" should fit with this.

Is the "ratcheting" of this useful for winding the strap all the way back in OR is it only to assist with tightening the strap? Thanx
It is really most useful for tightening the load. it would be too loose if there were no tension against the strap while winding it up all the way.
