4-Inch Heavy-Duty Ratchet Straps for Cargo Securement

To make sure your cargo is secure, you need to be sure you have enough straps to do the job. With heavy-duty 4-inch ratchet straps, you may not need too many, but still consider the working load limits of each strap and add accordingly. If there is too much tension, you risk damaging your cargo and your straps. Depending on your trailer's tie-down hardware, you may need a specific strap with a type of end fitting to keep things properly in place. After you know which strap you need, it’s time to secure your cargo.

Attach the end fitting on the strap to a specific tie-down point. Keeping the strap straight and flat, run it over your cargo to your other tie-down point. Attach the ratchet portion to that point, and make sure the ratchet is flat and that the mechanism opens up and away from you. Run the endless portion of the strap through the ratchet and pull all the slack through. Finally, ratchet the strap down until there's little to no resistance on the strap when you pull on it. To keep your excess strap from flapping in the wind while on the road, fold the excess into the handle.

Types of 4” Ratchet Straps

Depending on the tie-down hardware you have on your trailer, you’ll need a specific type of ratchet strap to suit your needs. We carry 4-inch straps with a handful of different end fittings perfect for you.

4-Inch Ratchet Straps with Flat Hook

Coated black to prevent corrosion, these hooks are specifically designed to latch on your trailer's rub rail. Because of the way they latch on, the only way to keep your cargo secure is by running the strap over or cargo.

4-Inch Ratchet Straps with Wire Hook

Wire hooks are strong and versatile. These hooks keep D-rings and O-rings in mind as they can easily latch onto them, but because of their versatility, they can latch onto almost any anchor point you have on your trailer.

4-Inch Ratchet Straps with Chain Anchor

These straps combine chains and straps to make one of the strongest 4-inch ratchet straps we have to offer. The end fitting of these straps has a chain end that can vary in length and has an anchor at the end for securement.

4” Ratchet Strap Construction

When we say these straps are heavy-duty and durable, we really mean it.

Each strap is made of high-quality polyester webbing packed so tightly together that it barely stretches under the heaviest of loads and water doesn’t even phase it. The ratchet itself features a wide handle for excellent grip and is made out of heavy-duty steel plated with gold chromate to prevent all types of corrosion.

Working Load Limits

Our 4-inch straps have a working load limit of 5,400 lbs across all of the end fittings, though we also carry Flat Hook eXtreme ratchet straps that have a working load limit of 6,670 lbs. It’s important not to confuse working load limits with breaking strengths. A working load limit is a measurement at which the strap works without issue, while the breaking strength is the point at which the strap fails. Continuing to operate above working load limits can increase the chance of equipment failure.

We at Mytee Products know that truckers deserve the best and need the best when it comes to the heavy stuff. Get your 4-inch ratchet straps from us today so you can get on the road and haul safely.
