The Benefits Of 2″ Ratchet Straps

There are several benefits to using our heavy duty 2″ ratchet straps. Let’s check out all the advantages of using these 2 inch tie-down straps:

  • Their 2″ width offers maximum durability and strength, making them ideal for supporting extreme cargo. Their width also makes them easier to spot in dark conditions.

  • Their high-strength polyester webbing gives them the ability to weather through hazardous weather conditions and prevents early signs of wear and tear.

  • Its ratcheting mechanism speeds up loading and unloading procedures. You can even adjust your strap to better accommodate your extreme cargo.

  • They can be used for any load and on any truck or trailer.

  • Not to mention, 2 inch ratchet straps can be paired with several end fittings, such as S-hooks, a standard flat hook, wire hooks, or Chain Anchors.

Our 2″ Ratchet Straps & Their Different End Fittings

Whether you have a flatbed trailer or an enclosed trailer, you’ll need the right end fitting that matches your tie-down hardware. We carry a variety of straps with end fittings that will meet your needs. Let’s take a closer look at them:

2″ Ratchet Straps With A Flat Hook

These 2″ inch heavy-duty ratchet straps feature a flat hook that latches onto the rub rails of your trailer. Simply attach the hook from the top or bottom of the rub rail and wrap the strap around your cargo. This hook is also coated in black powder to fight off rust and corrosion.

2″ Ratchet Straps with Wire hook

2″ Ratchet Strap with Wire Hook

Unlike the 2″ Ratchet Straps with a flat hook, the wire hook straps must be connected to D or O-ring anchor points. The wire hook itself packs tons of strength, given its steel construction and high working load limits. Though, they’re also small enough to latch onto any anchoring point regardless of their miniature size.

2″ Ratchet Straps With A Chain Anchor

Like the name implies, these 2 inch heavy-duty ratchet straps come equipped with a Chain Anchor. Specifically, the chain end fitting comes in various lengths, with an anchor hanging on the end. The combined use of both the strap and chain establishes a strong connection point. Keep in mind though, they have limited tie-down points.

2″ Ratchet Straps with S-Hooks

A common style with our retracting straps, these 2″ Retractable ratchet straps go best with lighter loads. The S-hook specifically is perfect for tie-down points on pickup trucks. Not to mention, they can be easily attached to D and O-rings.

2″ Endless Tie-Down Straps

Like the name suggests, this type of strap doesn’t have any end fittings. This strap can be looped back into itself and is great for keeping large quantities of loose items like pipes bundled together.

How To Use A Ratchet Strap

Now we’ll explain how Straps can be installed and removed during transport. Take a look at the mini step-by-step guidelines below:

How To Tighten A Ratchet Strap

  1. Start at the bottom of the ratchet strap and slowly thread the webbing through the center slot on the spool, closest to the ratchet.

  2. Next, pull the webbing all the way through to remove any slack. The hold should be firm but not too tight.

  3. Now start cranking the ratchet strap. Make sure your strap lies snug against your cargo but not so much that it damages your materials.

How To Loosen A Ratchet Strap

  1. In order to loosen your ratchet strap, start by pulling and holding the tab on the ratchet to override its functionality.

  2. Open the ratchet mechanism completely while lying it down flat.

  3. Grab the polyester webbing from the adjustable side and pull the strap to help release tension.

  4. Lastly, pull and hold the release tab on top of the ratchet again. This will help close the ratchet.
