What are L-Tracks?

L-tracks are a cargo control method that secures a haul and prevents it from jostling or coming loose during transport. The aluminum rails of an l-track are narrower than an e-track’s rails, and the round openings on the rails make it easy to customize a precise series of tie-down points that suit the needs of your cargo.

L-tracks are typically compatible with S-hook fittings.

Where to Use L-Tracks and Fittings?

L-tracks are typically used inside enclosed semi-trailers, in transport vans, and on the bed of pickup trucks.

How to Use L-Tracks and Fittings?

  • L-tracks can be fairly easily removed, and yet, while in place, they secure everything in your van or semi-trailer tightly.
  • To maximize your success with l-tracks, begin with a clear idea of what you’re moving. How big is it? Will it exceed the working load limit (WLL) of the straps?
  • When installing the rails, double check your measurements to make sure your track fits into your space.
  • Then, make sure you’re using high-quality installation tools, including drills, a wrench, a center-punch, nuts, bolts, washers, screw-drivers, and a deburring tool for a clean finish.

For step-by-step information on how to install the right sort of l-track for your project, contact us to ask questions or request an l-track installation guide.

Various Options for L-track

Our l-tracks come in 4-foot (48”) units. Aluminum l-tracks can be trimmed shorter using a jig saw with a metal cutting blade or a metal cutting drill.

L-track compatible ratchet straps come in 6-foot, 10-foot, and 12-foot lengths. 12-foot ratchet straps come with a single-button-push mechanism that cleanly retracts the strap to store it without tangling it.

All of our ratchet straps have a 500 lb WLL.

Things to Know About L-Tracks and Fittings

L-tracks and ratchet straps are frequently used to transport motorcycles. If you’re hauling a motorcycle, you might want to invest in motorcycle handlebar straps for extra security.

Sometimes, in addition to moving vans, enclosed semi-trailers, and pickup trucks, l-track systems are used in mobile homes or furnished vans when they’re on the go. If you’re pursuing a nomadic lifestyle, l-track systems might work for you.

L-tracks are lightweight. A 4-foot track typically weighs about 12 lbs
